Best Restaurants in Midland-Odessa

The emerging Midland-Odessa food scene is full of great delis and lunch spots, as well as romantic eateries. There’s also no shortage of great steaks and sandwiches in Midland. Midland seems to blend West Texas cuisine in with other culinary traditions for some unique and delicious meals.

Murray’s Deli

All generations of Midlanders love Murray’s Deli for soups, salads, sandwiches, and burgers. The Midland-famous deli is known for several key menu items: seafood gumbo, Jalapeno Burger, and Turkey Mornay sandwich. You can’t go wrong no matter what you order. Before you head back to work, finish your meal off with an iced brownie.

Venezia

Owned and operated by Carmine Scarcelli, a native of Italy, and his wife Karen since 1988, Venezia is the date spot in Midland-Odessa. They are known for scratch-made plates of pasta and seafood specials. The wine list at Venezia is 500 labels long, and the dessert menu features gourmet classics like tiramisu. The fireside dining and gorgeous patio bolster its reputation as a romantic restaurant.

Michael’s Charcoal Grill

If you need some comfort food or extra protein after a hard day of work, Michael’s Charcoal Grill is perfect for you. They definitely don’t skimp on portions, and the meat cuts are generous. At the grill, they have robust lunch and catering menus, and they have an array of fine dining entrees for special occassions.

Wall Street Bar & Grill

Open for over thirty years, Wall Street Bar & Grill is a cultural and historical landmark of Midland-Odessa. Serving classic American chophouse and seafood fare, Wall Street is a staple on the midland food scene. It’s perfect for an important lunch meeting or for a night out with your spouse.

The Garlic Press

Since the doors of The Garlic Press opened 16 years ago, Midlanders have flocked to it for its unique and evolving menu, fabulous wine list, and delectable desserts. It’s the perfect location for a nice family dinner or a hot date!

Jumburrito

More on the fast food end of the spectrum, but definitely deserving of this list, Jumburrito boasts six locations across Midland and Odessa. Fantastic stew meat burritos (think Carne Guisada with a Tex-Mex twist), homemade tortillas, and breakfast all day. What’s not to love?!

Rosa’s Cafe and Tortilla Factory

Our gal Rosa makes Taco Tuesday the absolute best with half-off tacos. Never has a $3 dinner tasted so amazing. Midlanders constantly crave the warm, homemade Rosa’s tortillas. Rosa’s is the beloved spot for quick, tasty tacos whether it be during lunch hour or a hectic weeknight.

Opal’s Table

Chef Chip Hight was inspired to open one of Midland’s premiere downtown eateries by his grandmother, Opal. A restauranteur herself, Opal loved to blend culinary traditions from Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas to make great scratch-made meals. Luckily, her grandson has brought her traditions for Midlanders to enjoy, with a West Texas flare of course.

Zucchi’s Ristorante Italiano

When Zucchi’s first opened their doors in 1994, Odessans fell in love with the Italian flavor and quality ingredients on the menu. For over twenty years, Zucchi’s remains a favorite with West Texas families.
